| Math Trade | Eric Engelmann | Math trade games should be available and checked-in by 3 p.m. Add your games to the list on Boardgame Geek before the convention. Get details on our Commerce page. | |
| Bring & Buy | Doug Porterfield | The Bring & Buy will be open beginning at 10 am. It will be possible to bring as many games as you like. The placement fee is only 25 cents. The sales charge is 10% of the sales price, with a minimum of 25 cents and a maximum of $8. You can download a PDF or Excel version at to bring along with your items. Pick up unsold games before you leave. Any games left behind become the property of Congress of Gamers. | |
| EuroCaucus | John Weber | Play in this wildcard tournament consisting of some of the most popular Eurogames (based on rankings at BoardGameGeek.com). Demos precede each game. You may drop in and out of the Caucus, as time permits. The event starts at 10 am, with starts scheduled about every 2 hours. See the schedule and rules. A plaque will be awarded to the player who performs best overall. | |
| America First | Mark Love | Play in this wildcard tournament consisting of some of popular games designed and published by Americans. Demos precede each game. A plaque will be awarded to the player who performs best overall. | |
| Copyright Office | Josh Tempkin | We will have space available for designers to demonstrate their games. An award will go to the best game, as selected by judges and attendees. | |
| CoG Racing Series | Mark Mitchell | You are welcome to play in any of the individual events regardless of your interest in the series—10 a.m./Formula De; 12 p.m. Detroit-Cleveland Grand Prix; 2 p.m./Royal Turf; 4 p.m./Um Reifenbreite (bicycle racing game); 6 p.m./McGartlin Stock Car Racing. The overall winner of the series will be determined based on a points system earned in all events. Scoring for each of the games will be the same as used in the Formula 1 series (10 - 1st, 6 - 2nd, 4 - 3rd, 3 - 4th, 2 - 5th, and 1 - 6th). | |
| Education Department | Brian Henderson | Attend a demonstration of the alternate-history miniatures game called Dystopian Wars at noon. The game is made by Spartan Games, a UK outfit that also makes The Uncharted Seas and Firestorm Armada minis games. | |
| General Services Administration | Marc Houde | Practice being a legislator (i.e., robot) bumbling about the capitol building (i.e., factory) and taking potshots at people (i.e., robots) in your line of sight! Special rules will be in effect and players could see boards from any edition of the game and expansion sets. It will start at 7 p.m. | |
| Alternative Race Circuit | Ken Sheffield | Try some rare racing games! The circuit will start at 8:30 pm. | |
| Embassy from China | Todd Heidenreich | Learn and play the ancient, strategic boardgame Go. In this game, two players alternately placing black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a line grid. Go is noted for being rich in strategic complexity despite its simple rules. Demos and games will take place continuously. | |
| Transportation Department | Paul Owen | Attend a demonstration and play Trains, Planes, and Automobiles—a family game for two to six players (with optional rules for up to eight). It's easy to learn, good for kids, and fun for adults, too. Begins at 11 a.m. | |
| Seminar: DBA Tutorial - Learn to play the Game | David Schlanger and David Kuijt | Here's your chance to learn more about the DBA (ancient wargaming) rules for fast, friendly gaming with miniatures. There will be ready to play games for beginners with armies deployed for action, as well as help provided by experienced DBA gamers (The Two Davids). Armies and Terrain will be provided. No DBA experience necessary! Take your knowledge from the Tutorial and participate in the DBV Tourney and the Ruler of the Nile event. Spend all day playing DBA! Gamemasters: David Kuijt and David Schlanger (WADBAG) Will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. All welcome; no experience necessary. | |
| De Bellis Vasingtonium | Chris Brantley | Congress of Gamers is happy to welcome the 6th annual "Wars of Washington, DC" DBA historical miniatures tournament. DBV is a four round, 15mm open tournament fought on 30" square boards. Will run from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Set-up begins at noon. | |
