Congress of Gamers No-Ship Math Trade

We've had two successful CoG No-Ship Math Trades, and we'll have another one in 2010. See the results from 2009. See the results from 2008. Ken Sheffield will coordinate the trade. Contact him with questions at ken@congressofgamers.org.

A Math Trade is a trade between a whole bunch of people at once, using an algorithm to decide who should send their game to whom. Because of the algorithm used, you will get a game you prefer over what you started with or, at worst, keep your original game. A no-ship math trade is simply a math trade between individuals who are able to deliver their games to each other in person, in this case, at Congress of Gamers. For additional details about Math Trades, go to the Wiki page.

All games that successfully trade will be exchanged at the convention. Anyone who gets involved in the math trade will be resposible for delivering and picking up the games they are trading to the convention. You will be able to drop off your math trade games as you register before 3:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 9. Punctuality will be appreciated! Math Trade games will be labelled with Post-It Notes and placed in a secure location. We'll sort the games by recipient and have them available for pick-up at 3 pm. The Math Trade location is the Dining Room.

Bring & Buy

The Bring-and-Buy is similar to a flea market. It allows gamers to sell and buy their used games and gaming-related products but doesn't require them to staff a booth because the convention takes care of sales. Buyers get the opportunity to inspect items before they buy and know prices up-front. There’s no sniping at the last minute and no shipping costs to pay. There are low fees for Sellers and no upper limit on prices. (You can even sell your collector’s items here.) Select a price for Saturday and a lower price for Sunday to help move items that didn’t sell the first day. Pick up your proceeds or unsold games during the day. Placement fee is only 25 cents. There is a small additional fee for items that sell, based on the selling price.

Hours: Sat., Oct. 9, and Sun., Oct. 10, 11 am-3 pm.
Location: Dining Room

Download item sheets (Word or PDF) and bring them with you to save time!

Souvenirs

Souvenir shirts will be available for pre-order. Extra shirts from 2010 and previous years will be available at the convention, as supplies permit. For additional information, see our CoG Shirts page.

Refreshments

Refreshments will be on sale in the Kitchen from 10-10 on Saturday and from 9-4 on Sunday. Coffee, sodas, water, juice, crackers, chips, pretzels, candy, and cookies will be available.
